    Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat and cook for 3 minutes, swirling the pan, until it smells nutty and turns amber; cool for 10 minutes.

    In a large bowl, beat the cooled brown butter with the sugar until fluffy, then beat in the egg and vanilla.
