- 30 g Cheddar cheese
- Ground beef patty × 1
- 1 g Black pepper
- Burger bun × 1
- 15 ml Olive oil
- 250 g Potatoes
- 2 g Salt
- Onion × 1
- 2 leaf Lettuce
- 20 g Burger sauce
Method
-
Prep Fries
Preheat the oven to 200°C. Peel and cut the potatoes into fries.
-
Soak Fries
Place the fries in a bowl of cold water for 15 minutes to remove excess starch.
-
Season Fries
Drain the fries and pat them dry. In a bowl, mix with olive oil, salt & pepper.
-
Bake Fries
Spread the fries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 25-30 minutes at 200°C, flipping halfway through.
-
Prep Accompaniments
Slice the onions. Wash and slice the lettuce leaves.
-
Season Patties
Season the beef patties on both sides with salt & pepper.
-
Cook Patties
Heat a drizzle of oil in a frying pan over high heat. Add the patties and cook for 3-4 minutes on the first side, until deeply browned underneath.
-
Melt Cheese
Flip the patties, top each with a slice of cheddar cheese, and cook for another 3 minutes until the cheese has melted and the patties are cooked through.
-
Toast Buns
In another pan (or the same one), lightly toast the interior of the burger buns.
-
Assemble
Spread sauce on the bottom bun, then top with lettuce, the patty, onions, and the top bun.
-
Final Salt Check
Remove the fries from the oven and season with a bit more salt if needed.
-
Serve
Serve the burger immediately with the hot fries. Enjoy!
